Job specification - Adhere to all relevant healthcare guidelines, ensuring best practices in every aspect of patient care. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver well-rounded patient care. - Diagnose and treat a variety of eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration. - Keep meticulous records of patient histories, examination results, treatment plans, and follow-up visits. - Offer expert advice to patients on maintaining optimal eye health, including the proper use of contact lenses and the importance of routine eye check-ups. - Perform in-depth eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to assess vision and identify eye conditions. - Prescribe and customize eyewear, including glasses and contact lenses, to meet individual patient needs. Candidate requirements - Must have a Doctor of Optometry degree and be registered under the General Optical Council. - Must have a license to practice optometry in the United Kingdom. - Flexibility: Skills to undertake locum assignments all year round, coupled with the versatility to embrace occasional shifts or extended work periods. - Skillset: Proficiency in diagnosing and managing various eye conditions and disorders. - Mobility: Ability to go from one place of practice or city to another within Staffordshire. Role scope

  • Deliver sight tests, clinical assessment and patient communication to a consistently high standard.
  • Use professional judgement around referral, clinical escalation and patient education.
