Job specification - Dispense spectacles and contact lenses according to patient prescriptions. - Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, ensuring accurate measurements and a perfect fit. - Provide expert advice on frame selection, lenses, and optical products based on individual patient needs. - Manage patient records, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date. - Offer excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction. - Collaborate with the optical team to ensure smooth clinic operations. - Maintain stock levels and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use. Candidate requirements - Must have attained a full-time diploma which was followed by working under supervision for a year. - Must be registered as an optician by the General Optical Council (GOC). - Must attain a three-year distance learning qualification offered by ABDO (Association of British Dispensing Opticians). - Must have a minimum of two years of working experience as an optician in the United Kingdom. - Must be well-trained and certified personnel in fitting contact lenses. - Must have excellent attention to detail, particularly for interpreting prescriptions and checking lenses. - Must be available to travel at any point in time. Role scope

  • Advise patients on lenses, frames, measurements and product choices with clarity and care.
  • Support handover from the clinical team into a confident dispensing conversation.
  • Maintain strong standards around compliance, documentation, aftercare and practice presentation.

Candidate profile
